The New Zealand dollar coin is the official currency of New Zealand and was introduced in 1967, replacing the New Zealand pound. The coin features Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse side and various New Zealand symbols on its reverse side, such as a kiwi bird or the silver fern. The coin comes in denominations of 10, 20, and 50 cents, as well as 1 and 2 dollars. The coin is made of a bi-metallic material, with the outer ring made of nickel-brass and the inner circle made of copper-aluminium-nickel. The New Zealand dollar coin is widely accepted throughout the country and is used for everyday transactions.
